About Queensland Country Music Festivals Champion of Champions

The Qld Country Music Festivals Champion of Champions Assoc Inc is a non-profit association comprising nearly 50 country music clubs from Queensland and Northern NSW.

Representing over 3000 amateur Country Music artists, the Queensland Country Music Festivals Champion of Champions Assoc Inc is the largest association of its kind in Australia.

The "Champs" competition is held in November of every year and the contestants are made up of winners of affiliated club festivals in the membership area.

The Qld Champion of Champions is one of the most prestigious awards that an amateur country music artist could win and could become the beginning of a new career.

Past winners have gone on to make a career for themselves in the Country Music industry:-

  • Lyn Bowtell - Multi Golden Guitar winner and member of group "Bella"

  • Brendon Walmsley - Multi Golden Guitar winner

  • Kylie Sackley - Now based out of Nashville as a professional songwriter, a recent song penned by Kylie has been released by superstar Leann Rimes on her new album.

  • Samantha McClymont - Former Juvenile Champion and now the 2005 Toyota Starmaker winner.

The Queensland country music circuit has been the creator of many Country Music careers, including superstar Keith Urban who was a member of the Northern Suburbs Country Music Association prior to his success in America. He is now one of the hottest Country Music artists in the world.

If you are not in a club that is affiliated with Champs, then you should be! If your club is not affiliated with Champs, it should be!
