Discussion followed regarding ways to change monetary payout at Champs:
Paul moved that we remove cash prizes from sections but shifting it to the Overall Champion.
John spoke in favour of the suggestion. Each of the sections would still receive a medallion for their prize and the large monetary reward would go to the Overall Champion, Overall Junior and Overall Juvenile to make the prize more appealing. Another festival that is being run is giving a greater amount of money which makes them appear to be better than our event. Bessie and Lance seconded this motion. Discussion followed. Majority in favour – 1 against.                                                                                                                                   CARRIED

Communication with Urban Festival regarding new section that they are creating for this year with prize money of $14,000 – professional section. Kylie spoke regarding in the future of re-instate 1st place prize money.

Sponsors may be able to sponsor different items for instance – the Band, Overall Junior, Overall Juvenile instead of just sponsoring the event. Barbara is approaching different organizations/companies.

JUDGES: Deniese Morrison helping to put together for this year. Approaching some high profile people in the industry. Need to do it in the most cost effective way.

COMPERE for Grand Final: Paul requested permission to approach Nick Erby for the Grand Final. The idea is endeavouring to lift the profile of the event.  More discussion needs to be had with regard to which direction we go – either way it must be cost effective. (Suggestion only)
