GENERAL BUSINESS:
Paul Wilson moved that the committee endorse the appointment of Breanna Gerritsen as the Juvenile Representative for 2005 , seconded Kylie Adams CARRIED
Barbara reported on information she and Don had collected on insurance - possibility of a joint proposal being put together. More research still needs to be done.
Brooke Hasted - Barbara has been investigating ways (Great Southern Land & AMRAC) to release Brooke's winning song as per her prize from Champs - Barbara put a proposal to the meeting to set up a Champs label which Barbara would produce and release on compilation CD.
Barbara moved the Barbara Productions duplicate and distribute Brooke's song to honour the Champs prize, seconded Paul Wilson CARRIED
More details will be given as the concept develops.
Paul Wilson reported on the Ipswich Champs Showcase which was warmly received by the audience and recorded his thanks to those who performed.
Country Music Association of Australia meeting that Paul attended recorded good numbers present and the Association expressed a wish to have meeting in various places during the year.
Caboolture - showcase will now be 20 minutes per performer as much negotiation with the organising committee.
Judges for Champs 2005 confirmed with the exception of Brendon Walmsley.
Dell - Festival organisers will be contacted by event co-ordinators regarding the format in which their results are required to assist with processing results for invitations for Champs, organisers will also be requested to send in a copy of their festival programme order as well as a list of judges used.
Angela Gerritsen - has noticed a decline in the number of juveniles competing and wondered what we could do to encourage more into the fold - mentioned a publication called "Kids in Brisbane" and suggested we should look at this to start with.
Happy Birthday to Joyce Green - long standing supporter of Champs on her 81st Birthday.
Membership cards - Paul Wilson moved that we issue cards for different levels of membership, seconded Gabby. This was suggested so that members could present this card at businesses such as Ellaways so as to identify their association with our event. Levels of membership it was agreed needed further discussion
